Oreo Truffles also known as Little Drops of HEAVEN!

One of my favorite food bloggers is Bakeralla. If you haven't been by her blog yet, you seriously should! She is so creative! Anyway, I've had my eye on her Oreo Truffles recipe for awhile now. Which by the way, I think the recipe actually originated from
Kraft Foods. I FINALLY made these little pillows of happiness, 2 days ago and I made them again, JUST so I could post about it :O)

I'm a HUGE fan of Oreo's and I remember when I was little (like back in Hawai'i days) they made these "White Fudge dipped Oreos" and I LOOOOOOOVED them!! Well, these Oreo Truffles remind me of those, but way better! I haven't had the time nor have I cared to make them look "pretty" (like MANY of the bloggers out there who HAVE made these sweet things) but dang it they're A M A Z I N G! Who cares what it looks like!

So do like me, and tap in to your inner Bakerella and try these puppies out!

What you'll need:

1 package regular Oreo's (You'll use ALL but SEVEN Oreo's!! This is VERY important).
1 8oz package Cream Cheese
White Chocolate (I used a regular sized bag of White Chocolate Chips, but I've used the blocks of White Chocolate before as well.)
A small bowl to melt chocolate
A spoon with holes in it :)
A piece of wax paper to cover...
A cookie sheet
Oh yeah, AND you'll need a food processor/blender to crush the Oreo's. It's 100x easier to use a food processor rather than a ziplock and rolling pin, to crush the Oreo's. If you don't have a food processor...GO GET ONE! They're seriously not expensive (unless you're trynna be the Next Food Network Star).

Step 1. Throw the Oreo's in the food processor and... Grind it up! You'll want it to be the consistency of sand.

Step 2. After you grind up ALL BUT SEVEN Oreo's (you thought I was joking, eh?), throw the Oreo's in to a bowl (oops forgot to list a bowl for the Oreo's...).
Step 3. Throw your Cream Cheese in to the bowl, get a spoon and mash it all together :) The smell is WINNER!
This is what it looks like after you mix it together. You'll have some streaking, but don't freak out, it will be ok! Ok next step, this picture is not very attractive!

Next step, Roll the dough in to about 1" balls. This really isn't crucial. I mean, mine went from 1/2" to over an 1" and good things these are NO BAKE cause it doesn't really matter what size they are. Hence this picture! LOL
Now throw these sinful delights in to the freezer for about 15 mins to firm up!
Right before you take out the Oreo Balls, throw your chocolate in a bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds, do about two or three of those intervals. Stir it real good.
Now is the time to deep those bad boys! Get your spoon with holes, throw the Oreo ball in to the melted chocolate, now take your spoon with holes and coat the Oreo ball with the melted chocolate. Then scoop the covered Oreo ball up, tap the spoon on the sides of the bowl a couple times to get the excess chocolate off and then let the Oreo ball roll off of the spoon and on to the Cookie Sheet that should be covered in wax paper! You can either put them BACK in to the freezer to let them set up, but being that I live in freakin' cold Utah, I didn't need to do that. I just let them sit for maybe five minutes, and they were done!
And there you have it kids...Oreo Truffles also known as (to me) Little Drops of Heaven...OR so good it makes you wanna slap your mama...LOL!
Love,
7
