Poli, the prettiest one.

Poli, Poli, Poli is number 4. Where do I start? I guess you're wondering why the title of this post? Well, it's one of those family stories that we will never stop telling. =-) So why start now?

(This photo is of the late Patrick Benioni my cousin, POLI and Patrick Atoa my other cousin)

Many moons ago, when we was kids, Poli loved to wear dove shorts and no bibbuhdeez (underwear). He was kinda femmy when we were little, I never knew it of course because I was only like 3 or 4 when Poli was this way. But good thing my dad owned a video camera, so that I could enjoy these "fafa" moments when we got older. (Ok, I'm a little scared for my life right now, but I don't care because It's my blog and I'll say what I want to). We have this one video of us kids and the Atoa kids (our first cousins on my dad's side) at PCC. In the video Poli is in his dove shorts and I think he was swinging on one of the poles of the trams and saying "I'm the prettiest one". Yeah, this story is one of those "had to grow up with us" stories =-)

Poli is happily married to Megan Fitzgerald (HOLLA!) and they are proud parents of 4 rambunctious, talented, funny kids! Growing up with Poli, I don't really remember being too close to him. Poli was a football star in his grade school years. We are a proud family and very competitive, we were all so proud of him and always excited to watch one of his football games. My mom was his biggest fan, that's for sure. My mom would call him her gentle giant (psssh whateva). Giant, yes he is. Gentle?? I'll get back to you on that. Poli is a strong person, he loves his culture, he can jam on da ukulele, he sings like an angel, he gives good talks always, he supports and loves his family...alllll of us and our drama (lol), Poli is just one cool person. He went from, loser, immature, smoker boy to quitting smoking cold turkey, taking his family to the temple and pretty much running Richmond American Homes. He was the General Manager in Colorado, but I hear he just got promoted to corporate. Which is weird, I just can't see my brother at an office desk doing paperwork. But you know what? How many people with a GED can say they're making over 100k/year?? Yeah, that's Poli for you. He's always been an over achiever, just doing okay was never good enough for him. I'm so proud of him.

(Poli jammin' on his ukulele)

Alright Dizzy (Poli's Laie Boy name), I have a confession. Remember when we lived in PG? And you woke up and went to work one day and then came home and almost beat the crap outta me, accusing me of stealing your car the night before? Remember how mom had just gotten back from Hawai'i that same day and as you are accusing me and inches away from knocking my ass out, mom is defending me saying "Poli, don't be silly, she doesn't even know how to drive."? Well, I can't believe I'm telling you this, but it was me. I stole your car that night, and I'm sorry. I mean come on, I was like 16, with raging hormones and had a huge crush on a boy in SLC. If I went back in time, I would change it. I would have scooted the chair back and put the girls' car seats back in the back seat. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA Just bein' honest =)

Love,
